The transformation

After reading a little into the book, i found a story told through a unique perspective. It features an almost autonomous perspective from a trifecta of divergent viewpoints.  As process is the focus, the story focuses on that in a way that’s proves to be an interesting read. What is more curious is the setting that the story goes to.

It’s a paradise of troubles, the trio seems to almost relish in those troubles and expand after. This tropical setting  seems almost like a dream though hazy and filled with misdirection. There is a care to their uncaring sensibility, nuances are passing and fleeting. Their process may be a comment on process, as something that is subtle, passing, faint until it builds into explosion.

O’hara Second Avenue

I feel that O’hara’s series of poems encases a plethora of messages streamed consistently for the reader to absorb consciously as well as unconsciously. The ideas and crafts behind them convolute  with his past and emotional feelings in what i believe to be a biographical display of social rebellion. Agreeing with what DuPlessis’ said, I also believe that this is a series of poetic works that travels from one stream of knowledge to the next. It is in this way stationary and morph like.

Through its density and complication, this work explores clear meanings, some of which may seem or be ambiguous. To me it read very quickly, like a stream of information was being pumped violently into my head. The stream barely stopped in its conquest of my thoughts. And i also believe that it is the intent of the poet for his work to behave in such a way, to behave as if to be delinquent so that it may press even further on our thoughts and get us, the reader to think in a way uncommon and reprimanded.

Readers response, Attack of the Difficult Poems

This article brought up a good sum of agreeable points. I agree with the statements said about the infrastructure of difficult poetry. However, this brings to me the question of “what is difficult poetry?” While it may be true that it can be defined by some key aspects, what may be seen as difficult to some may be intuitive with others.
Difficult poetry though at its core, just is. The document did well in confirming that. It is simply the structure of the poem to be aversive and mind boggling. I have seen many stumped by difficult poetry and I myself have been stumped by poetry on my first take as well. In my opinion, poetry is an art-form that has to be walked through, piece by piece, word by word. It’s concepts and meanings have to be thought about consistently under a lens of scrutiny and flexibility to truthfully grasp its meaning as poetry is very precise and open.
